The registration packets for next school year were sent home last week. The forms must be completed and payment must be made at the time of registration. Every family must be current in their tuition and extended day in order to register. Thank you!

Catholic Schools Week is a very special week in all Catholic Schools across the country. This is where we celebrate all aspects of receiving a Catholic Education, from honoring the parents for the sacrifices they make to the many volunteers who support Catholic Education.

Catholic Schools Week begins Saturday, January 27 with Mass at 5:00pm and dinner immediately following, the dinner will be Zoila's Indian Fry Bread. Our Lady of Perpetual Catholic School is having their Open House on Sunday, February 4 at 10:00am-1:00pm. Be sure to stop by and get a tour of the school and get all information needed to register for the 2018-19 school year (Scholarship information will be available).

Catholic School Week is a fun week where we celebrate having the wonderful opportunity to be in a Catholic School. We do many fun things during that week but most important we remember how lucky we are to be able to attend daily Mass, pray often and learn about our faith all day long. We are all so very blessed to be part of the OLPH School community.

La Semana de la Escuela Católica es unasemana divertida donde celebramos tener lamaravillosa oportunidad de estar en una escuelacatólica. Hacemos muchas cosas divertidasdurante esa semana, pero lo más importante esque recordamos lo afortunados que somos depoder asistir a la Misa diaria, orar y aprender denuestra fe todo el día. A good New Year’s resolution could be tocreate a schedule for after school that willsupport your child’s education. They need time to play and have a snack first. Depending onyour dinner hour you can start homework beforeor after dinner. Be sure the T.V. is off and thereare no distractions in the house while your childis doing homework. Be available to encourageand support your child. Make sure bedtime isearly and that your child reads or is read to eachnight before bed.

Una buena proposición de año nuevopodría ser crear un horario para después de laescuela que respalde la educación de su hijo.Necesitan tiempo para jugar y tomar un snack.Dependiendo de la hora de su cena, puedecomenzar la tarea antes o después de la cena.Asegúrese de que la T.V. esté apagado y que nohaya distracciones en la casa mientras su hijohace la tarea. Esté disponible para apoyar a suhijo. Asegúrese de que la hora de dormir seatemprano y de que su hijo lea o que le lean todaslas noches antes de acostarse.

“Teach your child new skills by first showing the skill yourself, then giving your child opportunities to learn the new skill. For example, speak politely to each other in the home. Then, prompt your child to speak politely say please or thank you”, and praise your child for their efforts.“

Advent begins this Sunday, December 3. The word Advent means “coming.” Advent is the beginning of a new liturgical year in the Western churches and encompasses the span of time from the fourth Sunday before Christmas until the Nativity of Our Lord is celebrated. The first Sunday of Advent is the Sunday nearest the feast of St. Andrew the Apostle which is November 30, and so it will always fall somewhere between November 27 at the earliest and December 3 at the latest. The significance of Advent is because it is a season of looking forward and waiting for something greater... the annual celebration of the event of Christ’s birth. The liturgical color for this season is purple.

Words cannot express how grateful and blessed I feel about the support that I received over this past weekend. God's love and beauty shined through this past weekend on our community! Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Mrs. Lucero.

Thank you to everyone who came to the Festival and especially to all those who volunteered! It is beautiful to see the parish and school communities working together as on body of Christ. We are truly blessed by God to have such a wonderful community!
