“Teach your child new skills by first showing the skill yourself, then giving your child opportunities to learn the new skill. For example, speak politely to each other in the home. Then, prompt your child to speak politely say please or thank you”, and praise your child for their efforts.“

Advent begins this Sunday, December 3. The word Advent means “coming.” Advent is the beginning of a new liturgical year in the Western churches and encompasses the span of time from the fourth Sunday before Christmas until the Nativity of Our Lord is celebrated. The first Sunday of Advent is the Sunday nearest the feast of St. Andrew the Apostle which is November 30, and so it will always fall somewhere between November 27 at the earliest and December 3 at the latest. The significance of Advent is because it is a season of looking forward and waiting for something greater... the annual celebration of the event of Christ’s birth. The liturgical color for this season is purple.

The newly elected Student Council will go to a Leadership Day at Bourgade Catholic School on Fri, Sep 22. This is a wonderful day where they come back to OLPH with all kinds of exciting new things to implement.

The 7th & 8th grade students will be attending a NPH Mass at St. Theresa’s School. They will have an opportunity to meet some pequeños from San Salvador. They will see first-hand how gifted many of these children are in music and in praise.

El Consejo Estudiantil recién elegido asistirá a un Día de Liderazgo en la Escuela Católica Bourgade el viernes, 22 de septiembre. Este es un día maravilloso donde regresan a OLPH con todo tipo de cosas nuevas y emocionantes para implementar.

Los estudiantes de los grados 7 y 8 asistirán a una Misa de NPH en la escuela de St. Theresa. Tendrán la oportunidad de conocer a algunos pequeños de San Salvador. Ellos verán de primera mano los talentos de estos niños en la música y la alabanza.

Our first School Mass and Dinner will be on Saturday, September 16th starting with 5:00pm Mass followed by dinner in the parish hall.

The students have started their standardized testing, ITBS and will finish up next week. Keep them all in your prayers, that the Holy Spirit give them the knowledge to do their personal best.

ELL classes has started but if you still wish to attend just come on Tuesday evenings at 7:00pm.

Happy Grandparents to all of the grandparents in the world. God has truly blessed you, so call or go see yourgrandparents today!!

Nuestra primera Misa y Cena será el sábado 16 de septiembre en la Misa de las 5:00pm seguida por la cenaen el salón parroquial.

Los estudiantes han comenzado sus pruebas estandarizadas, ITBS y terminarán la próxima semana. Recuérdenlos en sus oraciones, para que el Espíritu Santo les dé el conocimiento para hacer su mejor esfuerzo personal.

Las clases de inglés han comenzado, pero si usted todavía desea asistir sólo venga el martes por la noche alas 7:00pm .

We are so excited to let everyone know that this year we are up 35 students. The enrollment for the 2017-2018 school year is 362. We are so blessed to have the opportunity to serve so many wonderful children and families.

Nuestra primera Misa y Cena será el sábado 16 de septiembre en la Misa de las 5:00 pm seguida por la cena en el salón parroquial.

Estamos muy emocionados que todos sepan que este año tenemos 35 estudiantes mas. El numero total de inscripción para el año escolar 2017-2018 es 362. Es una gran bendición tener la oportunidad de servir a tantos niños y familias maravillosos.
