Jennifer Florez Biography
The gifts that were given to us were not given to us for ourselves alone, but to be shared with others.
Peace and all good to you! My name is Jennifer P. Florez and I am pleased to be back to my home parish, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Allow me to share a little about myself. I am the daughter of Alfred and Connie Perez, wife of Ruben P. Florez Jr. My family is what some would call a normal size “Catholic” family; seven brothers and four sisters. In addition, I have several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, and extended family that I love very dearly.
In 1997, here at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, my husband (Ruben) and I met while being sponsors for our family members to receive their Sacrament of Confirmation. We married in May of 2005, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and have just celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. We have no children presently, but continue to pray for our family to begin if God willing. However, we do have our Golden Retriever dog, Faith Florez, who we love very much!
My husband Ruben is an alumnus from O.L.P.H. and graduated in 1989. He also is a graduate from St. Mary’s Catholic High School and graduated in 1993. He currently works for the City of Glendale Fire Department as a Paramedic Firefighter and continues to work towards his Fire Science Degree. As for myself, I currently have my Bachelors in Education from Arizona State University, received my ATP Degree from Glendale Community College, and graduated from Independence High School. My hopes are to begin working towards my Master of Education Degree at Arizona State University in the fall of 2016. Education is extremely important to my husband and me!
As a teenager and young adult, I participated in the following ministries at O.L.P.H.; Life Teen, The Edge, Sacred Dancing, St. Vincent de Paul, and the Church Choir. Ruben and I currently volunteer for the Glendale Relay (American Cancer Society), Glendale Fire Department and my school community. Giving back to the Community is one of my husband’s and my passions in life!
In 2008, I committed into a relationship with the Sisters of St. Joseph, Third Order of St. Francis Community known as the Associate Program. We commit yearly and companion on the journey monthly to enhance our spiritual growth. We support the SSJ-TOSF Community with our service, our time, and giftedness. The Associate Program is available for both men and woman looking to further their spiritual growth and to support the ministry of the Sisters. The particular group I am presently with has become a Faith Community and we companion together in a Spiritual Journey.
My personal goal in life as a Catholic Christian wife, teacher, and Franciscan Associate is to continue to grow spiritually, journey with God’s Little and Big People, and to use my God given gifts to help others. I look forward to a wonderful and faith filled year with all of you!
Blessing in Christ,
Mrs. Jennifer P. Florez

Veronica Perez Biography
I have been raised and lived in Arizona since I was a child. In my elementary and middle school years, I was blessed to be homeschooled through the Seton Catholic Homeschool study program. Since then, I have been passionately dreaming of becoming a teacher, even though I was already a Catechist in my teenage years.
My dream came true, I graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. In the school year of 2013-2014, I had the privilege to volunteer as a missionary in Mexico educating the children and youth at Colegio Santa Rosa de Lima, run by the Missionary Sisters of the Cross in the poorest community of Tijuana, B.C. At the same time, I was discerning my vocation with them, but God had other plans for me. After my year of service to the Lord in Mexico, I came back home substituting at different Catholic schools. Then, I taught junior high school Language Arts and Religion at St. Agnes for a year. This is currently my third year teaching at OLPH-Glendale.
I am currently studying through an online program for a Master’s degree in Theology at Franciscan University of Steubenville.
Please pray for me as I will be praying for your family as well.
